Today we took a bus ride through Beijing and here is a glimpse of what we saw:

A part of the Beijing Olympic Area 2008 under construction. This is the arena for the opening show for the Olympics. Unfortunately I had to take the picture through the bus window on a foggy day, but maybe I will have a new opportunity another day. At least you might say you saw it before it was shown on TV

Not every Chinese family does own a car - by far not. On the streets you see a variety of transportation means, big Mercedes 500, bicycles, mopeds, wooden wheelbarrows and horse vehicles. Today we met this poor guy on his bike.

The Chinese government is cleaning up the city of Beijing before the Olympics. People from the poor Hutong area are moved to new apartments in big apartment complexes like this.
